Leaf by Leaf is looking for an experienced horticulturist or gardener to join our growing team.

We’re a small team of five who genuinely enjoy creating and maintaining beautiful gardens across Melbourne. As the business continues to grow, we’re looking for the right person to become an important part of the team.

Our work takes us all over Melbourne — from Brighton to Wonga Park, Eltham to Essendon and everywhere in between. We maintain a great mix of high-end residential gardens and large scale properties, which means plenty of variety from one day to the next.

About the Role

We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years' experience in high-end residential garden maintenance who enjoys working with plants, takes pride in the finer details and understands the care that goes into maintaining a garden to a high standard.

Some days you'll work alongside the wider team, other days with one other horticulturist, and there will also be opportunities to run your own day and look after clients independently.

A big part of what we do is building relationships with our clients. We want someone who is comfortable having a conversation, listening to what a client wants from their garden and using their horticultural knowledge to help achieve it.

We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in high-end residential garden maintenance

• Good horticultural and plant knowledge

• Experience with pruning, hedging and general garden maintenance

• Experience with soft scaping, mulch install, turf install and plant installation

• Basic Irrigation knowledge and problem solving skills

• A good eye for detail and pride in your work

• The ability to confidently work independently when required

• The ability to work well within a small team

• Good communication and people skills

• A friendly and professional approach with clients

• A current Australian driver's licence

• The ability to obtain a Working With Children Check

A horticultural qualification is highly regarded, although we also value practical experience, knowledge and a willingness for continued learning.

Hours & Location

Monday – Friday
7:30am – 4:00pm

Our depot is based in Briar Hill. You won't need to start there every day, as we often meet directly at job sites, however there will be days when starting or finishing at the depot is required.

A work ute will be provided following successful completion of the probation period.
