About the role
Training & Development Coordinator
My health for life Program
Brisbane | Full-time Fixed Term to June 2027
Great health programs don't happen by accident. They're delivered by skilled, confident people who have the right training, support and resources behind them.
If you enjoy helping others build capability, improving how things are done and making a genuine difference to people's health outcomes, this could be the role for you.
At Diabetes Australia, we're working towards a future where every person living with, or at risk of, diabetes and other chronic diseases can thrive. Through the evidence based My health for life (Mh4l) program, we support Queenslanders to understand their health risks, reduce their risk of chronic disease and make sustainable changes to their health and wellbeing.
We're looking for a Training & Development Coordinator to help support and strengthen the workforce by delivering that impact across Queensland.
About the role
This is a varied role that combines training coordination, workforce development, quality improvement and health coaching.
You'll coordinate facilitator recruitment, onboarding, training and assessment, helping ensure facilitators are well prepared and supported to deliver the program. You'll also contribute to professional development activities, maintain learning resources and systems, and support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across the program.
You'll work closely with facilitators, providers, program leaders and delivery partners, building strong relationships and helping maintain a high standard of program delivery.
From time to time, you'll also provide health coaching to participants, supporting them to make positive lifestyle changes and achieve their health goals.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to use your health background in a broader way.
Rather than supporting one person at a time, you'll help develop the people delivering services to communities across Queensland.
You'll enjoy this role if you're looking for:
Meaningful work with a respected national health organisation
A mix of training, coaching, stakeholder engagement and quality improvement
The opportunity to contribute to a large-scale preventive health program
A collaborative team that values new ideas and continuous improvement
A fixed-term opportunity through to June 2027, with the possibility of extension
Most importantly, you'll be part of an organisation working to reduce the impact of diabetes and improve health outcomes for Australians.
About you
You enjoy helping people learn and grow.
You're organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities. You can build strong relationships, provide constructive support, and look for practical ways to improve processes and outcomes.
You'll bring:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant health discipline e.g. registered nurse, dietician, physiotherapist, exercise physiologist
Current registration or accreditation in your profession
At least three years' experience working in your health profession
Solid experience in health coaching or behaviour change support
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
It would be beneficial if you also have experience developing eLearning resources, using platforms such as Articulate Storyline, or working with people living with chronic disease and diverse communities.
