Client Services Team Lead

Agvise is a Perth-based agricultural advisory firm, giving ambitious agribusinesses across Western Australia and nationally the commercial expertise and strategic support they need to grow with confidence. We're now looking for an experienced operations and finance professional to lead a newly created role at the heart of that work. A background in or around agriculture will help you settle in quickly and understand our clients, and a passion for systems improvement will ensure you are able to optimise the way in which we work.

About the role

Leading our team of financial support officers, our new Client Services Team Lead is responsible for keeping the wheel turning behind our consultants and clients. In addition to producing client reports, financial analysis and working closely with our clients, you’ll be the one who looks at how the team works, asks, “could this be better”, producing business summary reports, financial analysis and client communications. You'll also be the one who looks at how the team works and asks, "could this be better?", then goes and makes it happen.

Reporting to one of our Directors, you will become a trusted strategic right hand, someone who lets the directors and consultants focus on advisory work, because they know operations are in good hands.

What you'll be doing

• Leading and developing two Financial Support Officers, building their capability over time

• Triaging incoming work and allocating it across the team based on capacity, capability and individual strengths, supporting the Directors with these decisions

• Coordinating the team's key cycles, including annual reviews (February-March), mid-year reviews (June-July), pre-harvest reviews (November) and the quieter period over harvest (December-January), and follow up post-review evaluations

• Owning oversight of the team's core systems, including Xero, Agrimaster and Phoenix, and leading improvements to how they're used

• Overseeing the quality and consistency of business summary reports and other technical and financial work produced by the team

• Maintaining oversight of client database records, contact lists and broader business documentation, including sensible, easy-to-navigate file structures

• Liaising confidently with external stakeholders, including agricultural industry contacts, compliance bodies and IT or software providers

• Identifying opportunities to reduce manual work through better use of existing tools, automation and emerging AI tools

• Acting as a trusted advisor to the Directors, providing regular updates and freeing them up to focus on strategic and advisory work

• Upholding strict client confidentiality across the team's work at all times

What you'll bring

• Genuine experience in or around the agricultural sector, such as agribusiness, rural banking or ag finance

• Solid operations and/or systems improvement experience, ideally including some formal business analysis background

• High-level finance experience, with hands-on comfort using accounting or budgeting software such as Xero, Agrimaster or Phoenix

• A track record of developing and coaching others, along with strong team coordination experience

• Experience in a workflow management role, triaging incoming work against capacity and capability

• Confident stakeholder management, including managing up, and the ability to work independently and proactively

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and high proficiency across Office 365, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel

• A data quality mindset, comfortable cleaning, reconciling and standardising information from multiple systems

• A relevant tertiary qualification (Business, Commerce, Agriculture or similar) is well regarded but not essential

• Exposure to SQL, Python, or platforms like CBH Loadnet or AgWorld would be advantageous
