About the role
Bring your real-world aged care or disability support experience into the classroom and help shape a workforce that changes lives every day!
Part-time, Fixed-term Position
Are you an experienced aged care or disability support professional ready to take the next step in your career? If you've recently worked as a Support Worker, Personal Care Assistant, Disability Support Worker, Community Care Worker or similar, and are passionate about sharing your knowledge with others, this is your opportunity to help shape the next generation of skilled care professionals.
Join Box Hill Institute as a Teacher - Individual Support, Ageing & Disability and bring your real-world industry experience into the classroom, helping students develop the practical skills, confidence and compassion needed to succeed in this rewarding sector.
This is a part-time (0.8 EFT), fixed term opportunity until 31 December 2026. Salary range aligns to the current MEA: L1.1 - L3.5 $84,618 - $128,887 per annum (dependent on qualifications & experience), plus 12% superannuation.
At Box Hill Institute, we offer more than just a job - we offer a supportive and rewarding work environment where your wellbeing, growth and achievements are celebrated. Our benefits are designed to help you thrive both professionally and personally:
As a Teacher within our Faculty of Health, Community & Animals, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment to students pursuing careers in aged care, disability support and related health services. Working across our Box Hill and Lilydale campuses, you will create engaging learning experiences that combine industry expertise with practical application, supporting students to build the confidence, skills and knowledge required for successful employment in the sector.
You are a passionate educator or experienced industry professional who is committed to developing a skilled and capable care workforce. You bring current, hands-on experience from the aged care and/or disability support sector, a strong understanding of contemporary industry practices, and a genuine desire to mentor and inspire others. Whether you are already teaching or looking to transition from industry into education, you are excited by the opportunity to share your knowledge and help students build the skills needed to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
For over 100 years, we've been changing lives for the better, continuing to make this world a better place for all. By providing people with opportunities to expand their knowledge, experience and understanding of the world, we empower them to change their lives.
Our students can pursue everything - non-accredited short courses through the Centre for Adult Education (CAE); senior secondary qualifications including the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM); vocational certificates (including pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships and traineeships) and diplomas; and higher education degrees and a graduate certificate.
We are committed to a highly motivated and aligned workforce, so we'll be by your side to enable you, help you grow and offer you benefits which enhance your work-life balance.
