Cleaning Onsite Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cleaning Onsite Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy education facility. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional cleaning standards, leading people, and building strong relationships with clients.

You will be responsible for ensuring the site operates efficiently, maintaining high presentation standards, supporting your team and acting as the key contact between the client and our management team.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will lead by example. As the Cleaning Onsite Team Leader, you will be responsible for completing your own daily cleaning duties while supervising and supporting the onsite cleaning team.

You will coordinate daily operations, maintain high cleaning standards, train new employees, communicate with management and the client, and ensure the site operates efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational cleaning with leadership responsibilities.

• Perform daily commercial cleaning duties as part of your allocated workload.

• Lead, supervise and support the onsite cleaning team throughout each shift.

• Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a consistently high standard.

• Train, induct and mentor new team members.

• Conduct quality inspections and provide coaching where improvements are required.

• Allocate daily tasks and assist the team to meet operational deadlines.

• Coordinate cleaning requirements for school events, functions and special activities.

• Communicate regularly with management via WhatsApp, email and company reporting systems.

• Respond professionally to client requests and maintain positive working relationships.

• Complete daily reports, incident reports and quality inspections.

• Monitor stock levels, cleaning equipment and consumables, reporting replenishment requirements.

• Ensure all staff comply with workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and cleaning procedures.

• Assist with roster coordination and communicate staffing requirements to management.

• Promote a positive team culture through leadership, accountability and support.

• Monitor cleaning equipment, chemicals and consumable stock levels.

• Ensure all team members comply with workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.

• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience supervising or leading commercial cleaning teams.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Confidence using smartphones, WhatsApp, email and digital reporting systems.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• The ability to problem-solve and make decisions independently.

• A positive attitude with a commitment to quality and teamwork.

• Previous commercial cleaning experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

• Current Driver Licence.

• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

• Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
