Purchasing & Procurement Officer

About the role

Ideal Sales is looking for a motivated Purchasing & Procurement Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting our purchasing operations, maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships, managing product pricing, and helping promote the Ideal Sales brand and product range.

Key responsibilities

• Reporting directly to the Line Manager and Managing Director

• Working closely with suppliers, stores and management

• Negotiating pricing, terms and conditions with suppliers

• Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships

• Tracking and maintaining purchase orders and supplier communications

• Raising and receipting Purchase Orders

• Assisting with cost estimating and budgeting

• Entering new products and maintaining accurate product pricing in the database

• Scheduling seasonal promotions and events

• Monitoring promotional plans and ensuring purchasing requirements are met

About you

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement or a similar role

• A strong understanding of warehousing and retail operations

• The ability to read and understand promotional plans

• Confident communication and strong negotiation skills

• Excellent time management and attention to detail

• Advanced or strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets

• Experience using databases and other project or business management tools

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

• A proactive, positive can-do attitude

• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
