Senior Associate – Litigation | Complex Construction & Commercial Disputes

We act for builders, subcontractors, developers, owners corporations, insurers and private clients across Victoria and interstate.Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Associate with at least 6 years post admission experience to join our growing disputes practice.The RoleThis is a senior role for a commercially minded litigator who is ready to take ownership of complex matters, provide strategic advice and mentor junior lawyers.You will have a high level of autonomy, manage matters from start to finish and work closely with the Directors on significant and strategic matters.Your work will include:Construction and domestic building disputes in VCAT and the courtsBuilding defect, delay, variation and statutory warranty claimsCommercial and contractual disputesInsurance and owners corporation disputesDebt recovery and enforcement proceedingsMediations, hearings, interlocutory applications and settlement negotiationsBriefing and working with counsel and construction expertsSupervising and mentoring junior lawyersWhy Join LPF?Genuine ownership and autonomy over your mattersDirect access to and collaboration with the DirectorsInteresting and complex construction and commercial disputesOpportunity to develop and mentor junior lawyersOpportunities for community and industry engagementStrong relationships with repeat builder and developer clientsGenuine pathway to a future leadership position within the firmCompetitive remuneration of $150,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experienceHybrid working arrangements once established in the roleAbout YouYou will have:At least 6 years post admission experience with a strong litigation backgroundProven ability to independently manage complex litigation mattersStrong strategic and commercial judgementExperience appearing in Courts and TribunalsExperience supervising or mentoring junior lawyersExcellent drafting, analytical and communication skillsStrong file, deadline and matter management skillsExperience in construction or domestic building disputes, VCAT and Victorian court proceedings will be highly regarded.The role will initially be full time onsite at our Essendon office to support your onboarding and integration into the team, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid arrangement once established.If you are an experienced litigator looking for greater autonomy, complex work and a genuine opportunity to progress into a leadership role, we would like to hear from you.
