Customer Sales & Service / Retail Assistant (Bilingual – English & Mandarin)

Part-Time | 3 Days per Week | Slacks Creek, Brisbane

Fred Auto Parts is an established automotive parts retailer and supplier based in Slacks Creek, Brisbane. We supply automotive parts to customers across Australia through our retail store, online channels and nationwide delivery network.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Customer Sales & Service / Retail Assistant to join our team.

This is a part-time position, initially 3 days per week, with the opportunity for additional hours and greater responsibilities as you develop your skills and product knowledge.

This is an entry-level customer service and sales support position with opportunities to develop into a broader sales role over time.

You do not need to be an automotive parts expert when you start. We will provide training and help you gradually learn our products, systems and customer service processes.

Initially, your main responsibilities will include:

• Answering incoming customer calls, taking messages and transferring calls to the appropriate team member

• Assisting with general customer enquiries and basic sales enquiries

• Assisting with customer returns, exchanges and warranty enquiries

• Processing and labelling returned products

• Providing English and Mandarin translation support when required

• Preparing basic quotations and recording customer requirements for the sales team

• Assisting walk-in customers and supporting the retail counter

• Helping with basic administrative and customer service tasks

• Assisting with picking or locating products in the warehouse during busy periods

• Working with our sales and warehouse teams to ensure customers receive friendly and efficient service

As you become familiar with our products and systems, you will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility, including:

• Identifying and recommending suitable automotive parts

• Preparing customer quotations independently

• Handling more complex customer enquiries

• Processing customer orders

• Developing automotive parts and vehicle application knowledge

• Managing customer enquiries from start to finish

We are happy to train the right person, so previous automotive experience is highly regarded but not essential.

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Be fluent in both English and Mandarin

• Be confident and professional when speaking with customers over the phone

• Have good communication and customer service skills

• Be comfortable using computers and learning new systems

• Be organised and able to accurately record customer information

• Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Be reliable, punctual and willing to help the team when required

• Be comfortable working in both an office/retail and warehouse environment

The following would be an advantage, but are not essential:

• Customer service or retail experience

• Automotive or auto parts experience

• An interest in cars or automotive products

• Previous phone-based customer service experience

• Sales or sales support experience

• Current Australian Driver Licence

• Part-time position – initially 3 days per week
