• Air Conditioning Tradesman – Leading Installer

• Sheet Metal Installer – Leading Hand (Mechanical Ventilation)

• Air Conditioning & Mechanical Apprentices (3rd-4th Year)

Air Conditioning Tradesman (VRV/VRF) – Leading Installer

Openings: 1–2 | Hourly Rate: $35+ (Dependent on Experience)

What you’ll do

• Lead Commercial Projects, Specifically VRV/VRF, as well as occasional ducted and multi-split systems (Majority Daikin Systems).

• Interpret drawings & specs; set out, plan works, allocate tasks and keep up with program.

• Order materials & track usage.

• Commission & fault-find: addressing, networking, leak testing, charging, controls setup and performance checks. Must be confident in themselves to deliver 100% to project satisfaction.

• Ensure compliance with NCC/BCA and relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS/NZS 1668, AS/NZS 5149, AS 4254).

• Liaise with builders, site managers and other trades, report to office regularly; maintain tidy, safe work areas.

• Mentor apprentices and uphold ACM’s QA, safety and handover processes.

What you’ll bring

• 4+ years post-trade experience with specific hands-on VRV/VRF installs and commissioning.

• Strong leadership on site & able to run jobs (running small crews, delegating, training).

• High level plan-reading, neat copper/braising, pressure testing & commissioning skills.

• NSW Driver’s Licence, White Card.

• Own hand tools/battery kit; professional communication and documentation.

• Desirable: brand-specific commissioning (Daikin VRV), able to read and markup drawings.

Sheet Metal Installer – Leading Hand (Mechanical Ventilation)

Openings: 1-2 | Hourly Rate: $30+ (Depending on Experience)

What you’ll do

• Lead the installation of galvanised sheet metal ductwork, flexible duct and acoustic components.

• Read and mark up shop drawings; set out, measure, hang and seal to spec.

• Install and coordinate fire dampers (in line with NCC and AS 1682/AS 1668).

• Drive safety, QA and clean handovers; mentor juniors and apprentices.

• Liaise with site supervisors and ensure program milestones are met, report regularly to office.

What you’ll bring

• 4+ years in mechanical ventilation/sheet metal duct installation, including leading hand experience.

• Strong plan-reading and set-out skills; knowledge of AS 4254.2, AS 1668, AS 1682.

• Preferred experience with fire dampers, sleeves, access panels and penetration sealing.

• Current White Card, Driver’s License; own hand tools/battery kit.

Air Conditioning & Mechanical Apprentice (1st-4th Year)

Openings: 2+ | Hourly Rate: Depending on Age & Experience

What you’ll learn

• Install split, multi-split (VRV/VRF) and ducted systems: setting units, copper pipework, insulation, condensate, controls and commissioning support.

• Mechanical ventilation: sheetmetal duct installs, fans, carpark/kitchen/wet-area ventilation, fire/smoke damper basics.

• Read drawings, measure and set out, use power tools safely, and follow QA/safety processes.

• Professional site conduct, materials handling, and teamwork with leading hands.

What you’ll bring

• Positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

• Basic power-tool knowledge and good manual handling habits.

• White Card, Preferably Driver’s Licence (P-plates OK), and full work rights in Australia.

• Desirable but not required: pre-apprenticeship or work experience in trades.
