About the role
We are seeking an experienced People, Culture & Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve our people, culture and workplace health and safety functions. Reporting directly to the Directors and COO/CFO, this key leadership role will partner with the Executive and Senior Leadership Team to strengthen organisational capability, employee engagement, workplace culture, safety performance and compliance.
You will lead the full employment lifecycle and core HR functions, while providing leadership and governance across WHS systems, risk management, incident management, workers’ compensation and return-to-work. An Administration Support Officer reports directly to this role and provides coordinated administrative support across People, Culture, & Safety, as well as broader operational and office support functions. This role will suit an experienced HR & WHS professional with strong technical knowledge, practical leadership, sound judgement and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business, in alignment with the Company's M.O.R.E. values.
Key responsibilities
Develop and lead HR and people strategies aligned with business objectives and Company values.
Manage the full employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and separation.
Provide advice and support on employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters and dispute resolution.
Partner with leaders to strengthen leadership capability, accountability and team performance
Lead organisational learning and development, compliance training and mandatory training requirements.
Lead WHS governance, systems, compliance and continuous improvement.
Coordinate WHS programs, audits, statutory inspections, fire safety, training and risk management.
Oversee incident investigations, workers' compensation and return-to-work processes
Partner with the WHS Representatives, leaders and external specialists to improve safety performance
Monitor HR, WHS and industrial relations legislative requirements and support ongoing compliance.
Lead workforce and succession planning in partnership with Executive and Senior Leadership
Maintain accurate, confidential and compliant HR & WHS systems, records, policies and procedures.
Prepare and review HR & WHS reporting for Executive and Senior Leadership.
Lead and support the Administration Support Officer.
Identify and implement initiatives that improve employee engagement, safety, capability and organisational effectiveness.
Promote a workplace culture of inclusion, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or equivalent
Diploma of Work Health and Safety, or equivalent
Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (desirable)
Demonstrated experience across broad HR/People & Culture functions
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations obligations
Demonstrated WHS knowledge and understanding of practical workplace safety systems
Experience managing employee relations, performance and workplace matters
Experience with incident management, workers' compensation and return-to-work processes
Strong judgement, problem-solving and decision-making capability
Ability to provide practical, considered advice to managers and senior leaders
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
High standards of confidentiality, accuracy and professional integrity
Effective written and verbal communication skills appropriate to working with employees, managers, executives and external stakeholders
A collaborative leadership approach with demonstrated accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement
