Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer provides professional, effective and responsive security, fire safety and emergency management services at Kallangur Satellite Health Centre. The role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, secure and supportive environment for patients, visitors, staff, contractors and facilities while supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

The successful candidate will respond to security incidents, emergencies and requests for assistance, provide a visible and reassuring security presence across the facility, and work closely with clinical and operational teams to support the management of challenging situations. The role also contributes to risk management, facility operations and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and professional standards.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide professional security services that support the safety of patients, visitors, staff and contractors and protect Health Service facilities, assets and operations.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, security incidents and requests for assistance while maintaining a calm, professional and customer-focused approach.
• Apply conflict resolution, de-escalation and behaviour management strategies to support the safety and wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors.
• Conduct proactive security operations including patrols, access control, monitoring of security systems and incident reporting to maintain a safe environment.
• Develop positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to training, quality improvement and compliance activities.
