Skip Truck Driver

About the role

Super Skips is seeking a Skip Truck Driver to join our team on a casual basis. This is a hands-on role that plays a crucial part in our waste management and transport operations. Based in South Brisbane QLD, you will be responsible for safely operating skip trucks, collecting and delivering skips, and providing excellent customer service to our clients. This casual position offers flexibility whilst contributing to the essential services we provide to the community.

What you'll be doing

• Operating skip trucks safely and efficiently to collect and deliver skips to customer locations

• Loading and unloading skip bins using the vehicle's hydraulic equipment

• Conducting pre-operational vehicle checks and reporting any maintenance issues

• Following traffic laws and adhering to all health and safety regulations

• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries and collections

• Providing friendly and professional customer service during interactions

• Ensuring the skip truck and equipment are kept clean and well-maintained

• Communicating effectively with dispatch and other team members via radio

What we're looking for

• Current and valid Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) or Higher vehicle license (Cat HR, HC or MC)

• While prior experience is an advantage, we’re more than happy to train the right candidate

• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to waste transport

• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations

• Physical fitness and capability to assist with manual loading and unloading tasks

• Ability to work independently and respond promptly to dispatch instructions

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Reliability and punctuality in meeting collection and delivery schedules
