Your Role
Applications are invited for the full-time continuing position of Capital Accountant, based in Rockhampton, commencing as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will provide specialist leadership and expertise in the financial stewardship of capital resources across Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton. Working closely with school leaders, project managers and diocesan staff, they will oversee the effective financial management of capital works, fixed assets and funding arrangements, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and diocesan policies while contributing to the delivery of strategic capital initiatives.
The successful applicant will contribute to informed decision-making and strong financial governance by maintaining accurate capital records, providing timely financial analysis and supporting the planning and monitoring of capital projects. Through collaboration, sound financial expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement, they will help strengthen asset management practices, optimise capital funding arrangements and enhance the sustainability of educational facilities and infrastructure across the Diocese.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to influence strategic capital outcomes and support the continued growth and development of Catholic education communities throughout the region.

About you
The successful applicant will hold a degree in accounting, business or equivalent, have relevant experience and an understanding of, and a commitment to, the values of Catholic Education. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills, well developed interpersonal skills and a high proficiency of computer skills.
CA or CPA member is highly desirable. Experience in asset and project management is preferable.
