Role Description The Tow Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating tow trucks to assist stranded vehicles, perform roadside services, and transport vehicles as required. This full-time, on-site role is based in Keysborough, VIC and involves responding to dispatch calls, assessing vehicle issues, and providing services such as towing, jump starts, battery support, and lockout assistance. Daily tasks include inspecting and maintaining the tow truck and equipment, completing service records and documentation, and following safety and traffic regulations at all times. The Tow Truck Driver will interact with drivers, fleet managers, and business clients, providing clear communication and professional customer service during often time-sensitive or stressful situations. The role may require working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to support 24/7 roadside operations.
Qualifications
Strong truck driving skills and experience operating tow trucks or similar heavy vehicles.Knowledge of roadside assistance procedures, including towing, jump starts, battery support, and basic roadside diagnostics.Clear, respectful communication skills for interacting with customers, dispatch teams, and business clients.Valid driver’s license appropriate for tow truck operation in VIC; clean driving record.Ability to work safely in roadside environments, including adherence to traffic and workplace safety regulations.Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.Basic mechanical aptitude to identify common vehicle issues and use diagnostic tools.Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.Previous experience in towing, roadside assistance, transport, or automotive services is beneficial.
