About Our Family

We are a warm, busy family in Lane Cove looking for an experienced nanny / housekeeper to join us two days per week. Our current Nanny who has been with us for two years is moving to a ful- time role in October with her other career and we are sad to see her go, she has become part of our family.

We have three young children. Our eldest attends school, while our two younger children are cared for at home. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and brings warmth, energy and patience to their day.

We value reliability, initiative and open communication. We would love to find someone who becomes a trusted and consistent part of our family's routine.

About the Role

The role combines childcare with light household support.

You will help with school drop-off and pick-up for our eldest child (walking distance). During the day, your main focus will be caring for our two younger children.

The younger children spend approximately three hours each morning with their grandparents. This provides a regular child-free period to complete household tasks such as laundry, making beds and simple meal preparation.

Outside this time, we want someone who is actively engaged with the children. This could include trips to the park, walks, reading, crafts, games and age-appropriate learning activities.

We are looking for someone who enjoys playing with children rather than simply supervising them.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare

• School drop-off and pick-up for our eldest child

• School lunch box

• Care for our two younger children during the day

• Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children

• Support age-appropriate routines

• Plan engaging play and learning activities

• Read, play, do crafts and encourage imaginative play

• Take the children to parks, playgrounds and local activities (all walking distance)

• Encourage outdoor time and physical activity

• Keep children's areas tidy and organised

• Maintain a safe, calm and caring environment

Household Support

During the three-hour morning period when the younger children are with their grandparents:

• household laundry

• Folding and putting away clothes

• Making beds and changing bed linen when required

• Very simple meal preparation for the household

• General household

• General household organisation

• Keeping common areas tidy after the children

This is not a heavy cleaning role. We have separate cleaning support. The household component is focused on helping keep the family organised and running smoothly.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Organised and proactive

• Comfortable managing three children when required

• Able to work independently and see what needs doing

• Confident taking children out for activities

A key priority for us is finding someone who genuinely likes spending time with children and enjoys helping them learn, play and explore.

Essential Requirements

• Previous professional nanny or childcare experience

• Experience caring for babies/toddlers and young children

• Current Working with Children Check

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• Safe and confident driver

• Strong references from previous families or employers

• Australian working rights

• Non-smoker

Highly Regarded

• Early childhood education or childcare qualifications

• Experience caring for three or more children

• Experience working with children across different age groups

• Knowledge of age-appropriate developmental activities

• Long-term experience with previous families

Hours & Pay

Tuesday and Thursday - 7am to 7pm

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
