SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER / SENIOR CASE MANAGER

As a Senior Social Worker (Allied Health Professional) or Senior Case Manager (Professional Officer), you will respond to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people through specialised protection measures. Nestled within the picturesque parkland surroundings of Mount Barker, this senior role will guide complex child protection matters, including undertaking investigations and assessments that promote positive care outcomes for clientele. Utilising your professional expertise and autonomy, you will enact beneficial change adhering to statutory guidelines and DCP frameworks.

This is a single vacancy offered under a dual classification. The successful applicant will be appointed at the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications, experience and suitability for the role.

Essential Qualifications:

• AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions require applicants to hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• PO (Professional Officer) positions require relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or other related fields.

Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).

In this role, you will:

• Oversee complex case management that strengthens the safety of children and young people
• Conduct dedicated investigations and assessments that evaluate child protection related issues
• Enact appropriate response measures to resolve notifications of abuse that adheres to strict departmental policies
• Produce written and verbal intervention reports that clearly demonstrate understandings of child protection frameworks
• Uphold cultural values that recognise inclusivity and diversity when conducting visitations and assessments.

About you:

• You have an acute understanding of children and young people in their developmental stages and vulnerability
• You possess strong cultural understandings to bolster client engagement and service delivery
• You effectively generate high-quality written and verbal communication to echo reflections and assessments
• You can interpret and comply with relevant legislative and case management policies
• You are an independent worker, who can also operate within a team to fulfill workload obligations.

Salary:

AHP2: $94,997 – $110,052 p.a. + 12% super
+4% Child Protection Allowance
+Professional Development Allowance
+Entitlement to claim reimbursement of eligible professional development expenses
+Regional financial incentive
+Qualification Allowance may apply if you hold an additional qualification relevant to the role.

PO2: $94,769 – $109.787 p.a. + 12% super
