Our Opportunity

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.

Roster: 4D/4N/8R (12-hour shifts)

** 12 month fixed term **

Critical to the success of Fortescue’s operation of the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS), our Mine Controllers are accountable for the execution of the Mine Plan using Command MineStar. Reporting to the AHS Mine Control Supervisor, you will be integral to the team that drive efficiencies and optimisation across Fortescue sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Maximising equipment productivity through efficient fleet management
• Meeting and exceeding the mine production plan
• Being the first point of contact for key stakeholders including AHS Builders, In-field Builders, Pit Supervision, Operators and Blend Co-ordinators
• Ensuring a high level of data integrity using MineStar Fleet Management System
• Effectively troubleshoot and diagnose stopped trucks and assignment issues in conjunction with the AHS Builder to solve these issues in a timely manner

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in frontline mine system control
• Previous control room experience
• Proficiency in the operation of SCADA, Ardvarc or Caterpillars MineStar Command System is highly desirable
• Intermediate computer literacy skills and a passion for Innovation and Technology
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work with several demanding priorities
• Strong understanding of production strategies for large scale Mining Operations
