Store person - Engineering workshop

Opportunity

We are looking for a Store person to join the Forge Engineering team in Mackay. Our workshop is clean, safe, modern and well equipped with quality equipment. This position will suit someone who wants to work in a great team environment and learn new skills.

About us

Forge Engineering is a medium-sized machine shop in Paget, Mackay. We are well known for our quality, products and service delivery. Our services include CNC machining, Component manufacturing & Reclamation, Robotic welding & fabrication which we provide to a diverse range of clients in the mining, ports, rail, and agriculture sectors.

Role requirements

• Must have a Current High Risk work licence (Forklift) , and Car license (Manual)

• Load and unload trucks using forklifts, overhead cranes and other safe manual handling techniques

• Display professional interpersonal skills towards delivery drivers, customers and suppliers

• Receiving, unpacking, identification, labelling and storing of all jobs and materials

• Moving of jobs and materials into and out of work centres and to various other locations

• Packaging of finished goods, labelling and ensuring jobs are completed as per the work schedule

• Perform stock takes of consumable stores type items and replenish stock

• Regular cleaning of workshop areas and loading zones

• Emptying of swarf bins and other workshop bins

• Effective use of hand tools, trolleys, pallet jacks and other materials handling equipment

• Use of tablets and software systems to accurately process work flow - effective numeracy and literacy skills

• Have a methodical approach and able to complete work in a timely manner

• Ability to follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures

• Pay attention to detail and take pride in your work.
