Sous Chef

We're looking for a Sous Chef to assist our Head Chef in leading the team at Cavills Steakhouse & Rooftop Bar in Runaway Bay, QLD.

This is your chance to assist in leading a respected venue, guide the team, shape the menu and play a key part in our continued success. We're a busy restaurant with strong demand, and a tight-knit kitchen team that works hard and supports one another.

You'll take part in maintaining consistency and creating an environment where people love to work. If you are a hands-on leader who thrives during service and keeps things calm, clear and efficient behind the pass, you'll fit right in.

Our respected head chef who has built the current kitchen systems and reputation will lead the way. You'll receive practical training in all three positions (larder, grill, & pass), and have the rare chance to inherit and evolve a proven, successful menu with confidence.

What You Bring to the kitchen

Whether you're an experienced Sous Chef or a chef ready to take the next step, we want to hear from you.

You'll bring:

A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

Experience in busy kitchen environments with high cover numbers

Strong communication skills

A commitment to quality and consistency in food and service

Fluent English and a collaborative working style

Larder, grill & pass experience is a plus. You'll receive full support to learn the systems and flow. What matters most is your attitude, adaptability and readiness to assist in leading the team.
