Group Accountant

About the role

This is a newly created position reporting directly to the CFO, and sitting alongside our offshore based Finance & Logistics Manager and his team. You own the accounts themselves — the complete reporting, from the first transaction to statements an auditor can rely on.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated financial statements for two corporate groups — from transaction entry, reconciliations and month-end close through to auditable accounts

• Draft management accounts and financial reporting for the CFO

• Process Australian accounts payable and receivable, and payroll for both groups

• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS, and manage the tax agent and external audit relationships

• Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management and company secretarial administration

• Sharpen the systems, processes and controls behind the numbers (Xero and Unleashed)

About you

• CPA or CA qualified (essential)

• 5+ years' professional accounting experience, including consolidations and statutory reporting

• You take pride in accounts that stand up to scrutiny — clean reconciliations, tight month-ends, statements an auditor signs without concern

• Strong systems skills — Xero and Unleashed (or similar platforms) highly regarded

• Experience in food, FMCG or international distribution would be a bonus

• High attention to detail, real accountability, and clear communication across an international team
