Remuneration: $137,525.00 - $156,231.00 per annum, plus 12% superannuation

Hours Per Week: 38

About the Opportunity
The Peer Workforce Education Lead will utilise their expertise in peer workforce education and lived/living experience related to mental health and/or suicidality to inform the creation, delivery and evaluation of statewide education and training materials and programs, including leading state-wide implementation of peer work reflective supervision training.

Selection Criteria (address briefly in the cover letter)

1. Experience as a mental health and/or suicide prevention peer worker (minimum 3 years) and commitment to the values and principles of peer practice as outline by Elevating Lived Experience Expertise: A Framework for the NSW Health Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (Lived Experience) Workforce (2025).
2. Relevant qualifications in Mental Health Peer Work (including a Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work) and/or related tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience.
3. Personal lived/living experience expertise of mental health challenges and/or suicidal distress or suicidality and ability to use the insights gained from your lived/living experiences to inform mental health educational materials as a peer workforce subject matter expert.
4. Proven ability to design and facilitate training for the mental health and/or suicide prevention peer workforce with a minimum of three years experience.
5. Ability to identify strategic implications of current mental health policies, frameworks and workplaces that may influence training development, design, and delivery. Ability to prioritise and synthesise data from diverse sources to inform development and delivery of educational materials that meet the needs of the peer workforce, services and the broader mental health workforce.
6. Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement, with a proven ability to initiate, manage, and sustain relationships with a diverse range of individuals and organisations while ensuring clear, timely, and effective communication.
7. Demonstrated skills in managing coordinating project deliveries in line with project management principles.
8. Proficiency in utilising technology for educational delivery. Demonstrated ability to use platforms for education delivery, and demonstrated ability in using Video Conferencing business tools, records management systems, and Microsoft Office suite.

2. Outline an example where you have designed and delivered mental health education or training. What process did you use to design high quality training that met the organisation and learner’s needs?
3. Describe how you will model and promote a culture of integrity, ethical practice and professionalism in peer work practice aligned with the Elevating Lived Experience Expertise Framework, while representing HETI and NSW Health in a state-wide peer workforce education leadership role?
