About Us
Western Private Hospital, located in Footscray, is a 62-bed private acute hospital and is the longest serving private hospital in Melbourne’s west providing much needed services to the people in the expanding North West and Western regions of Melbourne and surrounding areas.
WPH’s facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Procedure Unit, Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Day Oncology Unit, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, Nuclear Medicine/PET Centre and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.

About The Role
We are now seeking an experienced RN who is dynamic and extremely motivated to join the Perioperative Services leadership team at WPH as ANUM in Gynaecology (IVF services) / Plastics/ Maxillofacial.
You will be responsible for the clinical management of patients within the unit and work flow, ensuring that the highest standard of patient care with all available resources is provided at all times, inc. theatre lists, coordinating and liaising with staff (surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, support staff).
This is a permanent position – open to either full-time 76 hours or part-time 60 hours per fortnight.
The classification for this position is 3B ANUM (range from $122,005 to $126,105- per annum / pro rata) exclusive of penalties & allowances + Super and 3.5% yearly increases as per Western Private Hospital Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2023.

Selection Criteria
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Division 1
At least 5 years’ experience working in Operating Theatres (2 years in Gynae/Plastics/Maxillofacial)
Previous ANUM / In-Charge / Floor Coordination experience is preferred
Advanced clinical skills and experience within perioperative nursing including delivering high standards of clinical care for patients utilising specialist knowledge
Must have a degree of flexibility to work varying days/hours to meet the operational needs of the hospital and to participate in a rotating roster
Postgraduate study in perioperative nursing OR working towards is highly desirable
Act as positive model and leader in the unit, facilitating individual and team growth and development
Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision making skills
Proven ability to lead portfolio work and engage staff effectively
Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
Exceptional communication skills to be able to work collaboratively and consult with doctors to ensure the best practice and patient outcomes are achieved
Capacity to lead and inspire a team of clinical professionals and act as a passionate mentor to junior staff
Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of patient care services
Working knowledge of ANZCA, ACORN, RiskMan (or similar) and NSQHS Quality Standards

Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 6 months, a current Working With Children Check and evidence of Australian Residency / Full Working Rights such as Australian passport, birth certificate, citizenship or VEVO/Visa Grant Details (No Sponsorship available)
Must have yearly Influenza vaccination (subject to reasonable exemptions per WPH policy) and provide proof of immunisation against, or immunity to, infectious diseases as required per the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic) – NOTE: for this role immunisation requirements associated with Risk Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
