Clinical Intake Assistant

• Part time 15.2 hours p/wk, fixed term until 23rd October 2026
• Parkville location, with multiple public transport options available 
• $69,438.72 - $76,382.80 (pro-rata) + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave

About the Clinical Genetic Service

The Clinical Genetics Service provides genetic counselling, genetic and genomic testing to individuals with, or at risk of, genetic conditions who are referred to The Women’s and the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (Joan Kirner) Hospitals. This includes individuals in the northwest and western parts of Victoria.

About the role

As the Clinical Intake Assistant you will work alongside the clinical team to manage referrals to the service.

A regular day will see you:

• Perform intake calls to patients triaged to the clinic by the Genetic Counsellors, involving collection of relevant family and medical histories
• Accurate completion of documents/records relating to clincal contacts
• Assist with management of patient wait lists as necessary
• Assist clinicians with follow up activitites

About you

You will be a current or recently graduated student from a Masters of Genetic Counselling course who also has the following skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
• Understanding of the services delivered by a clinical genetics service
