Enrolled and Registered Nurses (In-home Care for NDIS & Aged Care)

Sky High Healthcare is the Social Enterprise of Jack’s Butterflies who is a registered charity with the ACNC, a Rare Voices partner providing advocacy and support for children and their families affected by a life-limiting Rare Disease and an NDIS service provider.

Sky High Healthcare’s services range from complex in-home care to nursing services, assistance with daily living, community access, physiotherapy (hydrotherapy and respiratory physio), Supported Independent Living, Support Coordination and Nurse Delegation for people living with disability in South East Queensland.

About the Role

We are seeking 4 experienced Registered Nurses in Complex Care to help fill a 24/7 roster for two clients and 11 Enrolled Nurses for two 24/7 clients.

Duties…

• Clinical assessment and appropriate clinical escalation skills
• Continuous oxygen management
• Personal cares
• Skin and pressure injury care
• PEG feeding
• Medication management
• Complex bowel care
• Basic chest physio
• Secretion management (regular suctioning, nebuliser and the use of a cough assist machine)
• Engaging in client appropriate activities
• Potential opportunities to work with other clients

Qualifications & Experience…

• Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
• Relevant understanding and experience in acute health setting, delivery of health services within a community setting, complex case management, or palliative care
• Flexible approach to working hours is essential
• Paediatric nursing experience is desired but not essential.
• Wound management experience (skin tears, pressure injuries and complex wounds) is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience caring for children with acute lung failure (home oxygen needing regular adjustments, chest physio, use of cough assist machine, 6% NEBS, oral, nasal and deep suctioning to induce coughs to clear plugs) is essential.
• Experience high intensity supports including seizure management, oxygen and nebuliser administration.
• Excellent communication skills
• Your availability for all shift types including Active Overnight and on-call roster is ESSENTIAL.
