About the role
United Service Club Queensland – Spring Hill, Brisbane
Full-time or Part-time
The United Service Club Queensland is seeking a commercially minded and highly organised Business Development & Events Officer to grow event bookings, develop new business opportunities and coordinate corporate and private functions.
This is a hands-on role managing the client journey from initial enquiry and proposal through to booking, planning and event delivery. The successful candidate will also help develop partnerships, sponsorships and new commercial opportunities for the Club.
About the RoleReporting to the General Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Responding to event enquiries and converting leads into bookings
Preparing proposals, quotations and event packages
Coordinating corporate and private events from enquiry through to delivery
Building relationships with clients, corporate organisations and community groups
Developing new packages, partnerships, sponsorships and revenue opportunities
Increasing the use of the Club’s function rooms, meeting spaces and facilities
Working with operational teams to ensure events are delivered successfully
Reporting on business development initiatives and outcomes
Representing the Club at networking and industry events
You will ideally have:
Experience in event sales, venue sales, business development, hospitality or account management
Experience coordinating corporate or private events
Strong communication, sales and relationship-building skills
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
Confidence preparing proposals and managing multiple bookings
A proactive and commercially focused approach
The ability to work collaboratively across departments
Experience in hotels, clubs, function venues or conference facilities will be highly regarded.
QualificationsA Certificate III or higher in Business, Hospitality, Events, Marketing or a related field is preferred. Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of workplace health and safety will also be well regarded.
