Help manage prisoner property in a fast-paced maximum-security prison.Build a career in corporate services with training across different business areas.Play an important role that supports safe and efficient prison operations.Work in a supportive team where accuracy, integrity and service matter every day.Ongoing, full-time role earning $62,104 to $79,753 per year, plus super.
What You Will Do
As justice officer - property, you will support the safe and accurate management of prisoner property at Melbourne Assessment Prison.
You will provide property services, answer enquiries and help keep daily operations running smoothly in a secure environment.
You Will
provide accurate property services and respond to visitor and prisoner enquiriesrecord, transfer and store prisoner property and valuables using secure electronic and physical systemsmaintain accurate records, protect sensitive information and follow legislative and departmental requirementsoperate the prison switchboard, answer calls and provide clear information about prison servicescomplete audits, support other corporate service functions and work safely with property weighing up to 15 kilograms.
About You
No formal qualifications are required for this role. You should be comfortable working in a correctional environment with direct prisoner contact, including weekends and public holidays.
You Should Also Have
strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quicklyaccurate data entry and records management skillssound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and proceduresresilience, teamwork, flexibility and professional communication skills.
