VE Group is looking for an experienced Combo Operator to join our Civil team working across Central Queensland.

We are seeking a versatile operator who is confident working across a combination of plant and transport duties, including an 8t Excavator, Skid Steer/Posi-Track, Backhoe Loader, Body Truck and Tag Trailer.

This is a great opportunity for a reliable, safety-focused operator who enjoys variety, can work effectively as part of a small crew and is equally comfortable working independently.

About the Role

As a Combo Operator, you will support our civil project team across a range of plant operation, loading, unloading and transport activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating an 8t Excavator

• Operating Skid Steer / Posi-Track

• Operating a Backhoe Loader

• Operating a Body Truck and Tag Trailer

• Loading and unloading plant and equipment

• Transporting plant between work locations as required

• Completing daily pre-starts and equipment inspections

• Working safely in and around road environments

• Working effectively within a small crew, including teams of two

• Working independently when required

• Following all project, safety, environmental and operational requirements

• Maintaining a high standard of care for plant and equipment

• Contributing to a productive and professional project team

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Construction Industry White Card

• Relevant competency for Backhoe operations

• Relevant competency for Hydraulic Excavator operations

• Relevant competency for Skid Steer Loader operations

• Relevant competency for Rigid Haul Truck operations

• Current HC heavy vehicle driver's licence appropriate for the truck and tag trailer combination

• Proven experience operating multiple types of civil plant

• Experience safely loading and unloading plant

• Civil construction experience

• Confidence working in and around roads and live work environments

• Strong commitment to safety and site procedures

• Ability to work effectively in a small team

• Ability to work reliably and independently when required

• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude

• Reliability, punctuality and pride in your work

We are particularly interested in a genuine multi-skilled operator who can move between different pieces of equipment as project requirements change.
