About This Opportunity
The City of Kingston delivers Supported Playgroups for preschool-aged children and their families. Through play-based learning, we support children’s development, strengthen family connections, build parenting confidence, and help families access community services and supports.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate Supported Playgroup sessions that support children's learning and developmentCreate safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments for children and familiesBuild positive relationships with families from diverse backgroundsEncourage participation, connection, and community engagementWork collaboratively with families, colleagues, and service providersProvide family support, information, referrals, and in-home support as required
Your Skills And Experience
You are a relationship-focused professional with a passion for supporting children and families.
You Will Bring
A minimum Diploma in Children’s Services, Community Services, Social Work, or a related qualificationExperience facilitating playgroups or working within early childhood education and care settingsStrong skills in family engagement and relationship buildingExperience supporting vulnerable families using a strengths-based approachKnowledge of playgroup guidelines, industry standards, and best-practice approaches within the early years and family support sectorsThe ability to provide information, referrals, and practical support to families
