Research Assistant

Health and Wellbeing Queensland is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Pick of the Crop Plus One Serve (POTC+1) research project, a state-wide initiative aimed at increasing vegetable consumption among primary school students.

In this role, you will provide operational research support to facilitate the coordination and delivery of the POTC+1 project.

This includes contributing to research and evaluation activities, managing data collection and analysis, maintaining research and governance documentation, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The role will contribute to the generation of high-quality implementation and evaluation data to support the future expansion of school-based nutrition programs across Queensland and on a national scale.

Your opportunity

As the Research Assistant you will be involved in:

• Providing comprehensive support for the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the POTC+1 project within established project and research frameworks.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of processes and systems to effectively support all research, implementation and evaluation activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Assisting with the recruitment of participants, as well as the scheduling and coordination of research activities, ensuring all processes comply with the project protocol, ethics and governance requirements.

Specific role requirements

• The successful applicant must hold a relevant degree or higher qualification in either Health Promotion, Public Health, Human Nutrition, and/or Dietetics.
• Whilst not mandatory, experience in research with families and school settings are highly desirable.
• Intrastate travel may be required as part of this role.
