This position provides a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the Charters Towers region while delivering high-quality, patient-centred medical imaging services to the local community. Located just 90 minutes west of Townsville, Charters Towers offers a welcoming community, affordable living and a relaxed North Queensland lifestyle.
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative Medical Imaging team, this position will allow you to utilise and further develop your clinical expertise across a broad range of medical imaging services, including the introduction of CT services to the existing department. You will work closely with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to deliver contemporary, responsive and safe imaging services that contribute to positive outcomes for patients.
As a HP3 to HP4 Rural Development Pathway position, this role offers a structured opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence through a formal development program. Successful HP3 applicants will be supported through an intensive development plan, with the opportunity to progress to a Senior Radiographer (HP4) role upon successful completion of pathway requirements.
As a rural radiographer, you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience within a diverse healthcare environment while providing education and support to colleagues, students, patients and the wider community regarding the clinical and safety considerations unique to medical imaging practice.
Full-time opportunity (76 hours per fortnight) comprising a permanent part-time appointment of 32 hours per fortnight and a temporary part-time appointment of 44 hours per fortnight to 15/08/2027, with the possibility of extension not exceeding 2 years.
Appointment may be made at either HP3 or HP4 level. Where appointed at HP3, the employee will participate in the Rural Development Pathway (RDP) and may seek assessment against HP4 competencies after the required development period. Employees who do not meet the HP4 requirements following assessment will remain substantively appointed at the HP3 level.”
