Facilities Manager - Schools (Springfield)

 
Location: Springfield — parking available, starting September
Contract: Now until 02/10/2026 (covering employee leave, with possible extension — no permanency at this stage unless circumstances change)
Hours: 7.6 hrs/day, 38 hrs/week (Monday to Friday)
Pay: $45 per hour, inclusive of super
 
About the role
You'll manage planned and reactive maintenance across a busy schools portfolio, supporting delivery works and keeping operations running smoothly. Working closely with subcontractors, client stakeholders, and internal teams, you'll be the go-to person for facilities management and asset maintenance.
 
Who you'll work with
You'll partner day-to-day with site Schools Officers, the Cleaning Supervisor, and client stakeholders including Business Managers and Principals — coordinating and supervising Schools Officers as part of the role.
 
What you'll do

• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and internal teams, acting as the key point of contact for facilities management and asset maintenance
• Manage planned and reactive maintenance across site
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and close-out of works
• Support work order management and subcontractor queries
• Monitor contractor performance against scope, budget, and compliance requirements
• Maintain accurate records, plans, and reporting

What we're looking for

• Experience in facilities management, trades, or asset maintenance, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
• Project coordination or project management experience (desirable)
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• Trade or property/facilities management qualifications (desirable)
• An organised, personable, fast-thinking operator who's comfortable supervising a team

Requirements (mandatory)

• Current driver's licence
• Current Working with Children Check
• National Police Check, or willing to obtain
