About the role
We are a long established Accountancy, Tax and Business Services Practice based in Liverpool NSW. We offer a wide range of business advisory/consultancy, taxation and accounting services for a diverse client base.
We are seeking a Business Services Accountant to join our team of professionals.
You will be involved with:
· Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, SMSF’s and small to medium sized businesses using various structures
· Review of client records and preparation of BAS/IAS
· Working alongside the Partners in providing business taxation advice to clients, including tax planning and budgeting
· Assisting clients with account keeping and bookkeeping guidance when required
· Liaising with various statutory authorities – ATO, ASIC, Revenue NSW on behalf of clients
· Identifying and resolving accounting and taxation issues within client base
· Identifying ongoing and emerging taxation compliance and assisting clients with the same
· Working with the team to ensure lodgements within the ATO’s tax agent lodgement program
This role offers the candidate the opportunity to take on a wide range and variety of accounting and taxation work for our diverse clients, as well as being involved with all aspects of a Chartered Accountancy Practice.
The role also offers:
· Ongoing internal and external learning and training opportunities to maintain your continuing professional development compliance, and to keep up with the Australian tax legislation and on-going changes.
· Working alongside Partners and senior Accountants
· Working on a well-established and diverse client base

Ideally, to be part of our team, the successful candidate will have:
· Minimum 2-4 years of full time hands-on experience in an Australian Accounting Practice – in a Business Services role
· A degree qualification in Tax, Accounting or a related field
· Be CA/CPA qualified or be studying towards same
· Excellent communication and relationship building skills
· Have a good knowledge, understanding and practical application of Australian income taxation for a diverse client base
· A high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
· Strong computing and Excel skills, experience with MYOB AE and Class (SMSF Accounting) an advantage
· Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of tasks and complete work to a high standard, including following our internal processes and procedures
· Be a self-starter, driven and motivated
· Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Resident status
Remuneration will be discussed and negotiated based on your qualification and experience.
