• Uniforms & Meals Provided: We'll take care of the essentials so you can focus on what you do best
• Relocation Assistance: Up to $7,000 for eligible recruits willing to move to our regional centres (Capricornia Correctional Centre - Rockhampton, Townsville Correctional Centre - Townsville, Lotus Glen Correctional Centre - Mareeba)
• Please note: Custodial Correctional Officers working in correctional centres attract an aggregated shift allowance of 31.5%. Custodial Correctional Officers working within Courts Unit do not attract aggerated shift allowance as these roles are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

No Experience? No Problem!

You don't need prior experience or qualifications to apply, just a current open or provisional driver's licence! We're looking for individuals from all walks of life—whether you've worked in trades, hospitality, education, finance, or the Defence Force. What matters most is your energy, empathy, and resilience.

Important: Custodial Correctional Officers are required to use computers and digital systems as part of their daily duties, including report writing, record management and communication. Applicants should have a reasonable level of language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, which will be assessed during the recruitment process and throughout the Correctional Officer Entry Program (COEP).

Every day is different. One day, you might be overseeing prisoner rehabilitation programs, and the next, ensuring safe movement throughout the correctional centre.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

• Supporting education, vocational training, and employment programs
• Assisting with cultural engagement initiatives
• Managing prisoner inductions and accommodation units
• Conducting perimeter security and external escorts
• Writing reports for case management
