Accounts Officer

Mundaring Christian College is a thriving non-denominational, co-educational K–12 school, situated in the picturesque Perth Hills across two campuses with a Primary Campus in Mundaring and a Secondary Campus in Parkerville. Proudly operated by Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA), we are a provider of quality Christian education, dedicated to nurturing the academic and spiritual growth of our students.

We are seeking a passionate and thorough Accounts Officer to join our administration team in a part-time (0.6 FTE), ongoing position commencing as soon as possible. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, managing accounts receivable and payable, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

This is more than just an accounting role; it is a meaningful opportunity to faithfully steward the College’s resources with integrity and care. Through your diligence, you will help sustain the daily life and long-term mission of the College – strengthening a community where students can learn, grow, and flourish.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and maintain accounting records, including receipting, banking, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger data.
• Manage accounts receivable functions such as parent billing, invoicing, payment plans, and fee collection.
• Produce monthly accounts receivable reports in collaboration with the SCEA office to support decision-making.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts, and analyse financial data to provide insights to the Business Manager.
• Contribute to the Administrative Team by delivering consistent service and providing frontline support when required.
• Assist with general administrative duties and support broader team operations as needed.

Essential Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrate a committed Christian faith, actively supporting and contributing to the Christian life of the College.
• Align with the Association’s Statement of Faith, Christian Lifestyle Statement, and educational objectives.
• High level of customer service with strong personal presentation and professional telephone manner.
• Strong organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow directions and show initiative.
• Exceptional multitasking and time management skills, working efficiently and effectively.
• Accounts Officer experience or qualifications, with solid financial process knowledge and strong Microsoft Office 365 skills (and willingness to learn new systems).
• Current Working with Children Check, and Department of Education Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable Selection Criteria: (Include where appropriate in your response)

• Current Apply First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience working in a school and with school data systems.
