About the role
You'll be the go-to for electrical breakdowns, planned maintenance and preventive maintenance across the plant. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, food-grade environment where minimising downtime is everything.
Employment details
Full-time — 38 hours per week, plus regular overtime
Afternoon and night shift rotation
Night shift roster: rolling 4 on / 4 off through winter; 5–6 day weeks over the summer peak
Base rate: $55.00 per hour
Shift loadings on top of base:
Afternoon +15% → $63.25/hr
Night +30% → $71.50/hr
Overtime paid at applicable penalty rates
What you'll be doing
Rapid response to electrical breakdowns to minimise production downtime
Carrying out scheduled and preventive maintenance (PMs) on plant and equipment
Fault-finding and repairs across electrical, control and instrumentation systems
Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Completing maintenance records and complying with food safety and WHS requirements
Working closely with production and other trades during shift
What you'll need
Current electrician's licence (A-grade / unrestricted)
Proven experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, food or heavy industrial environment
Fault-finding skills across three-phase, motors, drives and control systems
Confidence working autonomously across afternoon and night shifts
Commitment to workplace health, safety and food hygiene standards
Highly regarded (not essential)
PLC / SCADA exposure and control systems experience
Food or beverage manufacturing background
EEHA / hazardous area qualification
Refrigeration or high-voltage experience
