About the role
Amongst the tropical surrounds of Fannie Bay sits one of Darwin’s most iconic venues, home to the Darwin Turf Club and the Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival.
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Cleaning Supervisor to join our team and help maintain the high standards expected across our venue and facilities.
This role will suit someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong eye for detail, and is just as comfortable leading a small team as they are rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done themselves.
The position may be offered on either a part-time or full-time basis, depending on the right candidate and the operational needs of the business.
Reporting to management, the Cleaning Supervisor will help oversee the day-to-day cleaning operations across the venue while also actively completing cleaning duties as part of the team.
Your responsibilities will include, although are not limited to:
Cleaning and replenishing stock in designated areas, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, windows and doors.
Carrying out general cleaning duties, heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as required.
Performing and documenting regular routine inspections.
Notifying management of any deficiencies, maintenance issues or repairs required.
Making appropriate adjustments to cleaning schedules and priorities when needed.
Stocking and maintaining supply rooms.
Following all health and safety regulations.
Working cooperatively with management and other team members.
Managing the weekly cleaning schedule for yourself and the cleaning team.
Supporting, directing and working alongside cleaning staff to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
Your required skills and experience:
Proven experience as a cleaner or cleaning supervisor in a similar environment.
A hands-on approach and willingness to actively complete cleaning duties.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and supplies.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent organisation and time management.
Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets and health and safety checklists.
Self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks without direct supervision.
The ability to lead by example and maintain high standards across the venue.
If you want to love where you work and be part of a great team at one of Darwin’s most iconic venues, please apply below.
