About Us 

Rosebank College has a proud and varied history of over 150 years as part of the Good Samaritan family established in 1857, and belonging to the Benedictine spiritual and educational tradition founded by St Benedict in the 4th century. The College belongs to the community of ten schools across Australia called Good Samaritan Education (GSE).  Established in 2011 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, the mission of Good Samaritan Education is to sustain and nurture our Catholic schools as Good Samaritan Benedictine communities of learning.

About the Role 

A school of Good Samaritan Education, Rosebank College is seeking applications for the position of Mathematics Teacher to join the Mathematics team in a temporary part-time 0.6 FTE position, working three days per week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, commencing Term 1, 2027.

This position forms part of a flexible work arrangement with the substantive Mathematics Teacher, who will work Thursday and Friday. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the substantive role holder to ensure continuity of teaching, learning, assessment, pastoral care, and communication throughout the full school week.

The successful candidate will teach across relevant year levels and will report to the Mathematics Coordinator.

The Mathematics Teacher will collaborate within the Mathematics Department and across relevant year groups, undertaking team responsibilities as required by the Coordinator. The Mathematics Department is highly successful and fosters a culture of continuous improvement committed to student-centred practice.

A key aspect of this position will be the ability to work effectively within a shared-role arrangement. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain clear and consistent communication with the substantive teacher working on Thursday and Friday, ensuring that students experience a cohesive and well-coordinated learning program throughout the week.

This will include effective handover and collaboration on curriculum planning, lesson sequencing, assessment, student progress, classroom management, pastoral matters, and communication with students, families, and colleagues.

Applicants for this position must be excellent classroom practitioners, dedicated team players, interested in the care and welfare of students, and have particular skills in teaching Mathematics to equip them to contribute to the College’s educational program in teaching and learning. • Experience as a highly effective, innovative and motivated educator across relevant stages of the Mathematics curriculum, with the capacity to contribute to Stage 3 upon its introduction in 2027
• Qualifications and demonstrated expertise in Mathematics
• The ability to work effectively and cohesively within the Mathematics faculty
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a shared-role or team-teaching environment, with strong communication and handover practices
• Commitment to ensuring continuity of curriculum delivery, assessment and student support across a part-time working arrangement
• Understanding of guided inquiry and the ability to implement it successfully in the classroom
• Understanding of and commitment to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
• Proven ability to incorporate contemporary technologies into teaching practice and a passion for classroom innovation
• A commitment to academic excellence and demonstrated knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices that encourage academic achievement
• Commitment to continual improvement and effective use of data to differentiate the curriculum and address the learning needs of all students
• Knowledge and understanding of the current curriculum and NESA requirements
• Ability to successfully integrate technology into everyday learning and planning
• Strong interpersonal skills when working with parents, students and staff
• Possess a valid Working with Children Check
• A commitment to child safeguarding principles
• Willingness to support the Catholic ethos and learning culture of the College
• Current NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW
• Willingness to support the College Pastoral Program, including responsibility for a Home Room where applicable.
