Team members collaborate to enhance programs and services that meet the evolving needs of learners and communities.Role Description The Director of Learning is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC, responsible for leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of learning programs across the college. This role oversees curriculum development, instructional design, and the effective use of learning management systems to support engaging, flexible learning experiences. The Director of Learning collaborates with academic and administrative teams to align training and development initiatives with institutional goals and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting learning strategies, managing implementation timelines, coaching educators and learning staff, reviewing program effectiveness through data and feedback, and introducing evidence-based practices in teaching and assessment. The role also involves stakeholder communication, resource planning, and ensuring that learning initiatives are inclusive and accessible for diverse learner groups.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Training & Development and Learning Management, with the ability to lead institution-wide learning initiatives.Strong skills in Instructional Design and Curriculum Development to create effective, inclusive, and outcomes-focused learning programs.Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems and related educational technologies to support digital and blended learning.Proven leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement abilities, including mentoring and supporting teaching staff.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with experience using data and feedback to improve learning outcomes.Relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Leadership, or a related field; postgraduate study is highly regarded.Experience in school or tertiary education settings, and familiarity with Australian educational standards and compliance frameworks, is beneficial.
