About the role

Nhulunbuy Child Care Services Inc. is seeking a Diploma Qualified Educator & ECT to join our team in Nhulunbuy, NT. Both are full-time positions offering an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood education and care. As a Diploma Qualified Educator & ECT, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care, education, and support to children in our childcare facilities. These roles are central to our mission of delivering exceptional early childhood experiences and fostering the development and wellbeing of the children in our care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate educational programs that support children's learning, development and wellbeing across all developmental domains

• Provide safe, nurturing and inclusive care environments that promote children's physical health, emotional security and social engagement

• Work collaboratively with families to understand children's individual needs, interests and learning goals, maintaining open and respectful communication

• Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and identifying opportunities for targeted support and extension

• Implement positive behaviour guidance strategies that encourage children's independence, resilience and social skills

• Maintain detailed records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and service policies

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards, including food preparation and allergen management where applicable

• Support the emotional and social needs of children, particularly those with additional or complex support requirements

• Contribute to a positive team culture, collaborating effectively with colleagues and participating in professional development opportunities

• Engage with the local community and build relationships that support cultural awareness and inclusion

What we're looking for

• Current Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognized qualification

• Current Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) or someone that is actively working towards this qualification

• Sound knowledge of early childhood development, learning frameworks (such as the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework) and best practice in childcare

• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that support children's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and inclusive environment that reflects contemporary childcare standards

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute positively to the service culture

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Working With Children Check or eligibility to obtain one

• Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds or additional support needs is highly valued

• Flexibility and resilience in responding to the needs of individual children and families
