Swimming Centre - Senior Lifeguard

The Murray Bridge Swimming Centre is looking for multiple Senior Lifeguards to join our team.

As a Senior Lifeguard, you'll play an important role in helping create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits the pool. You'll work alongside a great team of lifeguards and centre staff, helping with day-to-day operations, water quality monitoring, pool safety and supporting our aquatic programs and events.

No two days are the same. One minute you'll be supervising the pool deck, the next you'll be helping prepare for a busy community event, monitoring water quality or providing assistance during an emergency situation.

What you’ll be doing

• Supervising patrons and helping keep our facility safe

• Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Swimming Centre

• Monitoring water quality and pool plant operations

• Opening and closing the facility when required

• Assisting with events, programs and activities

• Providing excellent customer service to our community

• Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for visitors

• Opportunity to act as Pool Duty Manager (subject to experience)

Essential Qualifications:

• Pool Lifeguard Certificate

• First Aid Certificate

• CPR Certificate

• Aquatic Technical Operators Certificate (Pool Operators Certificate)

• Current Police Clearance

• Working with Children Clearance

The position is offered on a casual basis, with an ongoing contract at Municipal Employee, Grade 6, in accordance with the South Australian Local Government Employee’s Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $83,636 to $85,552 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience. The Murray Bridge Swimming Centre operates annually from October to April.
