Role Description:
The Cyber Security Engineer (Level 3) is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne.
Are you an experienced Cyber Security Engineer with a background in security accreditation, assurance, and risk management? We're looking for a Level 3 professional to join a high-performing team supporting critical Defence capabilities.
In this role, you'll lead security accreditation and assurance activities, manage cyber security risks, and ensure compliance with Australian Government and Defence security frameworks. You'll work closely with engineering and technical teams to provide security guidance, support accreditation outcomes, and maintain ongoing security assurance.
Essential Requirements:
Current NV1 Security Clearance (or higher)Experience working within Defence, Government, or other regulated environments highly regarded
What You'll Be Doing:
✅ Lead security accreditation and assurance activities ✅ Develop and maintain security documentation and accreditation artefacts ✅ Conduct cyber security risk assessments and manage treatment plans ✅ Support Authority to Operate (ATO) maintenance and compliance activities ✅ Apply ISM, Essential Eight, DISP, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks ✅ Provide security advisory services to engineering and technical teams ✅ Engage with stakeholders to drive successful accreditation outcomes
What We're Looking For:
✔ Experience in security accreditation, system authorisation, or security assurance ✔ Strong cyber risk assessment and governance experience ✔ Working knowledge of the Australian Government ISM ✔ Experience producing accreditation documentation and security reports ✔ Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills ✔ Understanding of systems engineering and SDLC principles
