About the role
This is a senior, autonomous operator role. You will independently set up and operate multi-head commercial embroidery machines (Barudan), interpreting job specs and deciding set-up methods, hooping techniques, backing, thread, needle and tension for the fabric and design. You will load, position and adjust designs from digitised files, hoop and frame various garments including polos, caps, jackets, bags and high-vis items. You will diagnose and fix production faults during runs, conduct final quality inspection and sign-off against job spec, plan run order against the production schedule to hit deadlines, perform routine and preventative machine maintenance, show newer operators correct set-up and quality standards, record production against job dockets, and maintain a clean, safe work area per WHS procedures.
Key responsibilities
Independently set up and operate multi-head commercial embroidery machines (Barudan)
Interpret job specs and decide set-up: hooping method, backing, thread, needle, tension for the fabric and design
Load, position and adjust designs from digitised files
Hoop and frame polos, caps, jackets, bags, high-vis
Diagnose and fix production faults during runs: thread breaks, tension, registration, puckering, misalignment
Final quality inspection and sign-off against job spec
Plan run order against the production schedule to hit deadlines
Routine and preventative machine maintenance
Show newer operators correct set-up and quality standards
Record production against job dockets, raise issues early
About you
3+ years operating commercial multi-head embroidery machines
Runs jobs start to finish with no supervision
Reads job dockets, design specs and colour charts, and catches spec errors before running
Sound judgement across a wide range of fabrics and garments
Fixes machine faults without escalating
Strong attention to detail and finish quality
Reliable, punctual, owns deadlines
Australian work rights
Nice to have: Digitising software (Wilcom)
Nice to have: Screen printing, DTF, heat transfer or sublimation experience
