About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join Konecranes & Demag Pty Ltd in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in the design, development, and optimisation of electrical systems for our material handling and lifting equipment. As an Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to projects that enhance operational efficiency and safety across various industrial applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions within a dynamic engineering environment, combining technical expertise with practical problem-solving to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients.
Key responsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical systems and control circuits for lifting and material handling equipmentConduct electrical analysis, simulations, and testing to ensure systems meet performance and safety specificationsPrepare detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation in compliance with industry standardsCollaborate with mechanical and control engineers to integrate electrical components into overall system designsTroubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective measures to optimise system performanceConduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant electrical safety regulations and standardsParticipate in project planning and provide technical input on feasibility, timeline, and resource requirementsSupport testing and commissioning activities to verify electrical systems function as designedMaintain current knowledge of electrical technologies, industry standards, and best practices
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualificationMinimum 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the manufacturing, lifting equipment, or industrial automation sectorsStrong knowledge of electrical system design, power distribution, control systems, and automation technologyProficiency with electrical CAD software and modelling toolsSolid understanding of electrical safety standards, including AS/NZS standards and relevant industry codesExperience with PLC programming and industrial control systems is highly desirableExcellent technical problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across multidisciplinary teamsProfessional certification or membership with Engineers Australia is preferredValid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and commissioning activities
