ERA CONSTRUCTION GROUP PTY LTD We are seeking an experienced and reliable Solid Plasterer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying and finishing solid plaster, render and related materials to internal and external surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes and compliance with Australian Standards and workplace safety requirements.
This is a full-time position for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, works effectively as part of a team, and can consistently meet project deadlines. As a Solid Plasterer, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying plastering and rendering materials, and achieving smooth, even and durable finishes across residential and/or commercial construction projects. The role requires practical trade skills, attention to detail, physical fitness and the ability to work safely in a construction environment.
You will work closely with supervisors, site managers and other trades to ensure plastering works are completed efficiently and to the required standard. Measure, mark, cut and securely install plasterboard panels to walls, ceilings and battens.
Install corner beads to achieve straight, durable corners and edges. Install cornices, mouldings, ceiling centres and other decorative plaster features. Finish joints, seams and fixing points using plaster and suitable jointing compounds.
Smooth and blend plastered areas to achieve an even finish. Mix and apply plaster, cement and render to walls, ceilings and other substrates. Apply plaster, cement and render to specified thicknesses while maintaining level coverage.
Check and correct the alignment and level of walls, ceilings, corners and angles. Create textured, patterned and decorative finishes to project specifications. Apply acoustic, thermal insulation and fire-resistant finishing systems using compatible materials.
Clean, patch, repair and level substrates before plastering and rendering. Inspect finishes for defects and carry out necessary remedial work. Select and safely operate plastering tools, equipment and machinery.
Follow construction drawings, specifications, manufacturer instructions and site directions. Verify compliance with Australian Standards, building requirements and company quality procedures. Coordinate with supervisors, site managers and other trades to maintain efficient work sequencing.
Maintain clean, organised and hazard-free work areas. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly. Qualification & experience Cert III in Solid Plastering, Plastering or a closely related construction trade Previous experience working as a Solid Plasterer in residential and/or commercial construction Demonstrated experience in surface preparation, rendering, plaster application and finishing Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications and work instructions Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
