This is a full-time position, offering approximately 38 hours per week.Key Responsibilities· Preparation and production of quality bakery products as per Bakers Delight standards.· Ensure bread quality and range is up to standard and delivered in a timely manner to meet customer demands.· Maintain an effective relationship with all team members of the Bakery.· Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry productTasks Include:checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulationschecking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredientskneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goodspreparing pastry fillingsmonitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking timescoordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry productsglazing buns and pastries, and decorating with cream and icingoperating machines which roll and mould dough and cutemptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipmentTo be considered for this role, you need to be able to meet the following selection criteria:· Flexible availability to work across the 7 days of the week, which may include evening work and some public holidays (starting times can be as early as 12am)· Work in a fast-paced team environment and communicate with customers and staff· Portray a positive attitude· Complete duties as directed by your manager/supervisor· Abide by company policies and procedures at all times· Train, develop and supervise apprentices and staff in the Bakery Department· Maintain an effective relationship with all team members of the Bakery· Have an eye for detail· Have good numeracy and literacy skills· Have a sound knowledge of food handling and food safety· Ability to work in a fast-paced team environmentCertificate III in Baking, Certificate IV in baking or equivalent relevant qualificationAt least one year of relevant full-time commercial bakery experience after completion of the relevant qualification, or a minimum of three (3) years of full-time relevant commercial baking experience where formal qualifications are not held.

The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following food safety and hygiene procedures, and assisting with inventory management and stock rotation. The Baker also collaborates with the team to meet production schedules and customer demand. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Bakers Delight Essendon North in Essendon, VIC.QualificationsPractical experience in a bakery environment, with strong skills in Bakery and Baking.Ability to perform Food Preparation tasks efficiently and safely.Experience producing a range of baked goods, including Cookies and Bread.Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and safe equipment operation.Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to follow recipes and procedures.Capacity to work early mornings, weekends, and peak trading times as required.Good teamwork and communication skills, with a positive, customer-focused attitude.Relevant bakery, pastry, or food production training or certification is highly regarded.
