Engineering Manager

About the role

Intercon Engineering is delivering projects across NSW and is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical and electrical engineering function on a major projects in Sydney.

You will manage the M&E design, coordination and delivery process — ensuring building services are well-coordinated, compliant, and delivered on time for construction — and lead coordination across the project team, consultants and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

•     Lead M&E combined-services and builder’s works drawing preparation through to construction-ready status.

•     Manage the BIM coordination process using a Common Data Environment (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360) and tools such as Revit and Navisworks to resolve clashes, routing and design issues and run code-standards checks.

•     Chair M&E coordination meetings.

•     Coordinate with clients, consultants and the architectural and structural disciplines to meet design and contract requirements.

•     Oversee space-proofing, equipment-delivery methodology and installation-sequence drawings.

•     Monitor project drawings, technical data and documentation through design, construction and handover.

Skills and experience

•     Tertiary qualification in mechanical, electrical, building services or a related engineering discipline.

•     Substantial experience managing M&E/MEP engineering on major building or infrastructure projects.

•     Strong BIM capability (Revit, Navisworks; CDE platforms).

•     Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary coordination and delivering to a construction programme.

•     Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
