About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Office for Research is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Associate (CRA) looking for a flexible, permanent part-time role, while continuing to develop their career in clinical research. You will help shape and deliver our strategic plan and support the continued growth of our Sponsor services.

Working within an established and growing team of subject matter experts, you will support commercial and non-commercial clinical trials and research across RMH, the Parkville Precinct and throughout Australia. You will work across multiple therapeutic areas, collaborating with clinical research teams, stakeholders and commercial clients to deliver best-practice monitoring in today’s research framework.

Unlike traditional CRA roles, this position offers exposure across the full clinical trial lifecycle, including study start-up, sponsor oversight, governance, quality systems, investigator support and monitoring activities. You'll have the opportunity to partner with research teams, influence best practice and help shape the future growth of RMH's Sponsor Services program

Key Accountabilities

• Lead sponsor monitoring activities including site initiation, interim monitoring and close-out visits, both on-site and remotely.
• Ensure studies comply with approved protocols, essential documents, GCP, regulatory requirements and relevant procedures.
• Support study start-up, feasibility, site selection and Site File maintenance.
• Monitor recruitment, data quality, query resolution, safety reporting and site performance throughout the study lifecycle.
• Provide clinical operations advice, training and ongoing support to investigators, study teams and research departments to stay ‘Inspection and audit-ready’.
• Apply a risk-based approach to sponsor oversight and monitoring, identify opportunities for improvement and build strong stakeholder relationships.

About You

• Minimum two years’ experience as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), with experience monitoring commercial clinical trials.
• Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification, with strong knowledge of the compliance environment for research; ISO 14155 knowledge desirable.
• Sound understanding of the National Statement, ethics and research governance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Collaborative, approachable and customer-focused, with a commitment to delivering high-quality research support and enablement.
