COAL PLANT SERVICES EMPLOYEE

NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS) are currently seeking to appoint a are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Coal Plant Services Employee (Cleaner) for a 6-month contract. This role plays an important part in supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Coal Plant and other production areas.

In this position, you will carry out cleaning and production support activities across the plant, helping maintain high housekeeping standards and ensuring work areas meet hazardous area requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean Coal Plant areas in line with hazardous area requirements and scheduled cleaning programs.

• Provide cleaning and production support in other plant areas as required, including:

• Boiler and Turbine House

• Feed heating areas

• Coal feeders and burner fronts

• Fabric filters

• Waste Oil Facilities

• Environmental retention ponds

• Assist Day Operations Plant Services Employees in the Production workgroup if requested.

• Support outages and overhauls by cleaning, preparing, and setting up work areas and facilities for other workgroups and contractors if requested.

• Help maintain safe and tidy work environments in accordance with site standards.

About You

You will be a practical, dependable team player with a strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and working in a production environment. You take pride in doing quality work and supporting the wider operations team.

Experience operating mobile equipment such as Skid Steer Loaders, Water Trucks, Tip Trucks, Front End Loaders and Forklifts is preferred, partnered with the ability to work in a team environment. It is essential to be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Successful applicants will be provided with further on the job training to support their position.

Role requirement will include:

·         Hold a current driver’s license

·         Basic computer literacy

·         Ability to work in confined spaces, below ground, at heights and in a noisy environment

·         Ability to climb ladders and stairs

·         Ability to problem solve

·         Ability to work independently or in small teams

The successful applicants will be paid according to the recognised Coal Plant Services Employee competency profile.

Pre-Employment Requirements: Successful completion of a drug and alcohol test and pre-employment medical.
