Commercial Contracting Support Officer L2 (6166)

Business Review Group (BRG) is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracting Support Officer (Level 2) to support the SATCOM SPO – OBC SSB (Space) project within the Department of Defence.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial professional with Defence procurement and contracting experience to contribute to a high-profile Defence capability program. The role supports the commercial contracting function through procurement planning, tender activities, contract administration and commercial advice across the project lifecycle.

Canberra-based candidates are preferred, however remote work arrangements are available. This is an enduring engagement with a strong likelihood of extension beyond 30 June 2027.

As the Commercial Contracting Support Officer, you will:

• Evaluate and analyse contract and financial information submitted by vendors in response to Request for Tender (RFT) activities.
• Verify compliance with RFT requirements, formatting standards and registration conditions.
• Support the Commercial Contracting Manager in providing strategic commercial advice to the project.
• Assist with the preparation, review and management of Scopes of Work.
• Develop contractual documentation in accordance with Defence policy, procedures and procurement frameworks.
• Assist with procurement planning, tender development, contract formation and contract management activities.
• Prepare commercial correspondence and documentation while ensuring legislative and policy compliance.
• Provide support across procurement, commercial, legal and financial investigations relating to contract management outcomes.
• Contribute to the achievement of project milestones through effective commercial support.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate experience in:

• Defence commercial and procurement environments.
• Government procurement frameworks and legislative requirements.
• Procurement planning, tendering and contract formation.
• Reviewing and evaluating commercial documentation and supplier submissions.
• Preparing Defence contract documentation and Scopes of Work.
• Contract management principles and commercial governance.
• Producing high-quality written documentation and reports.
• Working within complex stakeholder environments.
