Complex Care Support Worker

New Wave Care is urgently recruiting multiple experienced Support Workers to join a new support team for a participant requiring complex care and palliative support.

This is an opportunity for experienced Support Workers who are confident with manual handling, passionate about providing quality care and able to deliver compassionate and reliable support.

The participant will require the use of a range of specialised equipment, including a hospital bed, full sling hoist, alternating pressure mattress, pressure-relieving cushion, tilt-in-space shower commode, tilt-in-space wheelchair/chair and slide sheets.

Experience with manual handling and hoist transfers is essential.

The participant is receiving palliative care, so we are looking for Support Workers who are comfortable supporting someone with complex health needs and working alongside health professionals.

Health-related supports will include Webster pack medication assistance, PRN medication administration in accordance with the medication chart, emptying the catheter bag as part of daily supports and working alongside Community Palliative Care.

We are looking for Support Workers who are experienced, compassionate, reliable and confident supporting people with complex needs. The participant has requested that Support Workers are able to communicate clearly in English, be comfortable with manual handling and hoist transfers, follow support and medication plans.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

• Previous experience in complex care/palliative support

• Current First Aid & CPR

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

• Driver’s license + reliable, fully insured vehicle

• Current Manual Handling and Medication Management certificates
